I think most of us can agree we have or know someone who has done some sort of resume-driven development in the past.

My question is, what would be the opposite of resume-driven development? That is, what are the most boring yet reliable languages and frameworks out there? What stuff doesn't change yet creates solid software year after year?

Would the opposite of learning a cutting-edge JavaScript framework for deploying server-less AI blockchains on cubesats be Java? Could there be an argument for Common Lisp as it has been around the longest?
